We Need More Space! Build a Shed.

As the interior of the cabin becomes more finished, I am finding that I need more storage space. We decided to build a shed to help with storage and also to use it as a “garage” for our golf cart.

A request from the wife was that I did not build a “hobo village”. I agreed to tuck the shed onto the back edge of the property, shielded from view by a number of pine trees. Also, the land here was mostly flat and I didn’t have to do much excavation to build the shed.

The shed was built in a week and was quite easy to erect. I did have some help with putting sheeting on the roof and with putting shingles on the roof (I don’t particularly like heights). It is already starting to fill up and I am sure at some point in the not too distance future, I am going to wish I build a bigger shed.

After leveling the ground, the joist work is in place and sheeting for the floor starts to be installed.
Two of the walls are in place.
Starting to close in the stud walls.
The constructed shed. Still needs a good coat of stain.
I had a heck of a time finding treated lumber to build this ramp for the golf cart.
I was able to find some time to continue working on the cabin too. Floor installed and walls painted in the downstairs bedroom.
It’s not all work and no play. Doing some fishing in the nearby lake.
